I procceeded out on the Saquish road and walked out into the marsh to examine the huge tire. The tread was about 30 inches across, and I assume this came off a good sized piece of construction equipment or some equivalent vehicle. Among the questions going through my mind is how the thing got upright! I'm guessing that it floated onto the edge of the marsh and when the tide went out it was not longer buoyed on one side and dropped into the emerging gully where it apparenly is now stuck.
