On Aug.9 I photographed an adult and juvenile YCNH on the exposed tidal flat of the Bluefish River just west of the bridge/culvert on Washington St. south of the intersection with St. George St. I got better photos of the adult on Aug 13. On September 4, I found three juveniles in the same spot - again on tidal flats (area is under water between mid and high tide). On other occasions I have seen one fly up into the clump of trees bordering the south bank of the river and others have reported seeing them in the trees. I assume this is a family; perhaps that is their roost.
