I found 3 Snowy Owls (and almost certainly a 4th) on Duxbury Beach November 30, 2017. Another birder/photographer reported hearing that Norman Smith released 3 Logan Airport captures yesterday or today. Two different observers reported to me seeing 3 different individuals on Saturday Nov. 25 prior to the recent release.

Bird #1 was at the Second crossover atop large pole. Bird #2 was on the marsh north of High Pines west of Bird #1. Bird #3 (flight shots) was on the berm just south of the Plum Hills lot and flew over my car to the ocean side when flushed by a Great Blue Heron! A few minutes later I spotted a Snowy in a tree next to the Osprey pole in the Gurnet marsh and got it again in that same spot 40 minutes later. During that time another observer reported seeing 2 Snowys in a spat by the pole. I also photographed a Snowy in a different spot not far away, presumably while bird #3 remained by the pole. After I left the Gurnet and returned up the beach, I found the two individuals seen earlier still in the immediate High Pines area; highly unlikely that they were involved in Gurnet marsh action.

So almost certainly 4 Snowys today. The Logan releases typically move on south very quickly at this time of year; I was lucky to see them and have great viewing weather.
