7/5/02 8:49 PM Taken at the Loop 337 bridge over the Guadalupe River. State Police and National Guard were stopping all through traffic here. The danger was that the bridge apparently had been "moved" or shaken by the earlier surge. A FEMA officer came by when I was talking with the State Trooper and National Guardsman. He commented, "Something under that bridge is slamming against it and causing it to shake."

With the sun having just set, this scene almost looked like a border crossing in some foreign land.
