Flood 2002 - San Antonio/Hill Country

The rains came down and the floods came up. Now considered to be worse overall than the flood of 1998, the flood of 2002 has certainly affected a broader area than in 1998. This is a small collection of photos I took of the major areas hit. Please note: I do not have a press badge and was not allowed to enter business or residential areas hit, so my photos do not show the widespread damage done to the more than 40,000 homes. We were in the KOA RV park when the flood ocurred. We have many pictures of the park and the surrounding area during and after the height of the flood. We got out of the park early Sat.PM with our fifth wheel as the water was beginning to rise quickly. We went over the bridge over the Salado Creek and pulled into the RV park on the other side of the bridge and from that point on watched the flood waters rise.
