While out in the Smokies yesterday morning, I had walked about a half mile through a field and spotted a nice 8-pointer having breakfast in the tall weeds. As I eased a little closer, he stood for a couple of minutes, eyes riveted on me. I was wearing dark clothes so he might have thought I was a bear! :) He finally bolted, running past me toward the shade of the woods.

As he ran, the old Beatles tune, "Band On The Run", ran through my head!
