Hraunfossar is a massive series of falls, almost 3/4 mile wide, which gush from springs underneath the Hallmundarhraun lava field and into the raging Hvita River. The falls are fed by glacial melt and surface runoff. My good friend, Þorsteinn Ásgeirsson, took me to see these spectacular falls.
A video of these falls can be seen at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vkBBMUxyxhM
