I have always dreamed of photographing animals in the savannas of Africa. In October 2004, I was fortunate to spend a day on safari with well known National Geographic photographer Kevin Spreekmeester at the Toronto Zoo. During a workshop there, Kevin shared with us his knowledge of how to take effective photographs of wild animals. We were then taken on a behind the scenes tour of the zoo, in order to apply the principles that Kevin had so enthusiastically shared with us. The results of that day are displayed below. I have added some more recent pictures of owls that I have photographed at Cranberry marsh near my home.
