Photos from a Father's day hike to St. Mary's Glacier. This is one of my favorite hikes in the front range, especially for children. It is close to Denver, not too long, with lots of scenery and attractions. The glacier has receded a lot in recent years. The first time I hiked to it in 1997, we could see blue glacial ice just above the lake. Some place I read that this is the southernmost glacier in North America. Not sure if this is true. The hike starts at 10,300 ft and ends at over 11,000 ft depending on how high you go.
