The Herman Gulch trailhead is located just off I70 before you get to the Eisenhower Tunnel. The trail is about 3.5 miles up to Herman Lake. Along the way, you cross several streams and pass through meadows full of wild flowers. Up at the lake, you have gorgeous mountain scenery with several 13ers along the Continental Divide behind the lake. The trail is pretty heavily traveled on weekends, so it is a good idea to get an early start.
