Breeding adult. Heavy-fronted look. Extensive breast-streaks
extending along flanks and down to legs. Rich rufous in crown
and scapulars. Bill is thinner and longer than in
Semipalmated Sandpiper with slight droop to the tip.
Head appears larger with thicker neck than Semipalm.
Upright stance while a rest. Dark legs not visible.
Many spring migrants in Colorado have duller plumage.
