Yellow-bellied Sapsucker
(Sphyrapicus varius)

Pichetti Ranch, Cupertino, Ca

IMG_7909-W.jpg

This bird is not normally found in this area so many birders and bird photographers flocked to this single persimmon tree
on Pichetti Ranch when it showed up and stayed for over a week while it feasted on the ripe fruit.
This bird was joined by many other species before the fruit was gone.

They included: Acorn Woodpecker, California Thrasher, California Towhee, Downey Woodpecker, European Starling (ugh),
Golden-crowned Sparrow, Hermit Thrush, American Robin, Scrub Jay, Spotted Towhee, Steller's Jay, Townsend's Warbler, Wrentit and Yellow-rumped Warbler

other sizes: small medium original auto
