"Rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated" (Mark Twain)

Imagine my surprise, several days after hearing of this dog's passing, when seeing him walking
around, so life-like. (Perhaps I'll call him Lazarus.) I can only assume that there was some incredible miscommunication between the owner and I. I admit, my auditory discrimination is sometimes lacking, but JEEZE! The owner and I had a 3-4 minute conversation about how hard it
was for the dog to get up and down stairs and how much his tan friend missed him. To say the
least, I am delighted HE is still among the living, but his behavior has changed a great deal. While he never got too close to Phoenix and I, he never scurried away. I have been trying to
get a close-up for a couple months. It's been like trying to photograph Sasquatch. Every time
he sees us, he hurries off in a cowering gait. It saddens me greatly.
