Hey! It IS Bakersfield! I saw your other pics! I really like your galleries...I used to live in California, moved out here to Illinois about 4 years ago, with absolutely no connections whatsoever (aside from my husband's job). We really like it here. But i lived in Cali-- Bakersfield and Tehachapi-- for 41 years of my life-- and I have fun looking at shots of Kern County and the coastal areas, and places I remember. I kinda miss the beach & mountains (you should see what people here think is a hill, much less a mtn.!) But that's about all I miss from there...well, my brother & sister too-- but I love your galleries! Thank you for sharing. And, you also have some very artistic shots in throughout, as well!
But tell me, who owns this place? I never knew where the old indian went, just that they'd taken him away, when I was a kid. I roamed all these areas on my bike and on foot, as I grew up not far from the bluffs, and Alfred Harrel Hwy., and the Circle downtown.

Omy gosh!! Is this in Bakersfield?? Because it looks like Kern River Oil lease down behind him, and somehow, I remember this big ol' statue being near the Garces Circle on Chester Ave. I think he advertised a tire store, or something. Is it, is it???
