Interesting close up and quite a bit of action between these two birds eating an apple. It does look as though the photographer was quite
close potentially with a flash? There are quite a few contrasting colours in this image which potentially aren’t working very well together.
Colour grading this image in processing can help when there are issues with this. If the background was an addition a more subtle colour may have helped.
