A tightly cropped animal portrait showing great detail in the fur with bright even lighting along the side of the animal. The damage to the nearest ear
shows evidence of the harsh life this hyena has led and this is matched by the harsh environment that we see surrounding the hyena. I think the hyena
appears aware of the photographer but is not engaging with the photographer and the portrait may have been stronger if this had occurred.
