When my anthropomorphism kicks in I can see two eyes in this tree and possibly a ponytail hanging down on the right. The tree itself is well exposed with dark shadings and highlights
evident across the subject. The background is a flat concrete wall which has texture but is non-distracting. This sets it off nicely from the textures and lines in the tree bark
but I think darkening it might distinguish it more from the subject. I would also like a more definite point of interest in the image.
