contain the eye while vertical ones lead it into the frame. We have here three horizontal lines (the beach, the jetty and the cloud line).
The beach is a very bright horizontal line and to my mind prevents the eye from moving into the picture. In fact, it is so
strong that even without the red cloud, the picture still has impact. What I think we need to do is make the eye start
to move along those lines. We do this by reducing the amount of foreground and cropping some of the sky.
Try it and I think you'll find your eye moving along the wave line, onto the jetty and then into
the frame rather than being arrested by those blocking horizontals. But a nice shot either way.
