The idea of showing the artist working with his subject with a background showing his work is a good story telling approach.
The direction of the lighting was difficult and has been handled well to not loose highlight detail and still retain sufficient detail
on the shaded side of the artist. I think a stronger composition may have been obtained by moving around to the left and
shooting the sitter in side profile with a more straight on shot of the artist showing the action that was happening
in his hands in greater detail. This change of position may also have made the lighting easier.
