Large Male approximatly 12-14 feet and weighs close to 800-1000 pounds
Iv'e been told that the population of alligators at this rookery has doubled since Hurricane Ike hit here and this pond was one of the few fresh water ponds for miles since the tidal surge covered most everything except High Island .Alligators are reptiles and live in fresh water but on ocassion venture into brackish water.
This one doesn't look like he's missed any meals lately.
