Eastern Grass-Veneer (Crambus laqueatellus)

I went out this morning to check on the chickadees since the weather was too poor to do much today. It was time to check on them again anyways. They are now a week old and now have pin feathers (below). They are much smaller than the bluebirds were when they were a week old! After checking on the chickadees I went somewhere else to do a little exploring off the trail. I didn’t find much except for an abandoned tree fort, another pile of rocks in the middle of nowhere, some deer and the regular local breeding birds. There were a number of moths out, about the only insect life I saw except for a couple of hiding Common Ringlets and a couple dozen million mosquitoes (but they were not a bother because it was cool enough to wear long sleeves). I photographed 3 different types of moths and this was the only one I could identify.

A great little nest with their young baby birds with 'big' beaks! V

Superb shot of this tiny moth! I am impressed with the quality of the image. The chickadees are all head and mouth at this stage! The nest is wonderful.
