Halloween Pennant (Celithemis eponina)

This was once a speciality dragonfly that was only known from one location at the extreme western edge of my local area, but within the past year they have moved eastward to colonize the entire western end of my local area including locations in my neighborhood. I haven't seen quantity at any location, however, except for their original location in the extreme west, and I don't think any have been spotted in the east yet.

Canon EOS 7D ,Canon EF 70-200 mm f/4L IS USM
1/400s f/8.0 at 200.0mm iso400 full exif

Strikingly beautiful shots. I have had trouble getting a decent shot this year as it has been windy each time I've seen them (or that is my excuse). After seeing these fabulous shots I think I'll ditch my shots! V+
