I don't know if this is a good thing or not but my neighborhood Merlins are nesting in my yard this year. Today this guy was sitting in a tree in my yard low to the ground eyeing everything that moved (except for me). He tried to take out a squirrel and then a duck, but they were both too big for the Merlin. The duck didn't see to care or notice, almost seemingly laughing at the tiny Merlin. It will be interesting to see how this affects the birds in and around my yard.
