I was excited this morning to get out on the mudflats looking for shorebirds. I quickly found a small mixed group of shorebirds with a few Sanderlings mixed in, approached, but before I could take a photo this Peregrine Falcon swopped in only a few feet away from me and tried to pick off one of the shorebirds. Unsuccessful, the Peregrine then circled around the mudflats a couple of times at close range, tempting me and my camera for a flight shot. The shorebirds disappeared off into the distance unharmed.
