I was poking around the vegetation today looking for insects to photograph and this was one of the shots I took along the way. There were tens of thousands of caddisflies covering every bush along the water and the beginnings of an emergence of mayflies. Lots of whiteface species dragonflies, a few skimmer species (Chalk-fronted and Four-spotted), Common Green Darner, and one Horned Clubtail that I missed photographing by a second. Butterflies were few, but I did see and photograph a Black Swallowtail (to be posted later).
