Bronzed Tiger Beetle (Cicindela repanda)

This morning there were hundreds of these tiger beetles running around on the sandy beach I visited. Every step I took along the beach flushed 15+ of these beetles. From above these beetles were very difficult to spot in the sandy habitat until they moved.

Fantastic shot! Yep, this is the time of year when they become abundant again (early spring is the first big emergence of these guys). I think they are beautiful, as your lovely shot shows well.
