I went out this morning to a spot in the woods I've never given much attention to in the past. I knew there was a discarded engine lying on the ground next to an informal footpath off the main trail in one direction and I knew there was a fort of some sort in a red pine plantation of the main trail in another direction, but I never stopped to take a good look around. Odd, since I live within walking distance of this area and since I use the main trail through this area up to three times a week as a bike route to elsewhere. This area has always been a pass-through for me, but today it was the focus of my attention.
 
My first new find was this large roll of wire fencing, which was only a few steps away from the trail. I had no idea it was there! I eventually found another similar roll of wire fencing further from the trail.
