Bald Eagle in Flight

There may not be any snow on the ground or ice covering the ponds but there are signs of winter all around. Recently I saw a small flock of Evening Grosbeaks and a Short-tailed Weasel in its white winter coat. Common Goldeneyes overwinter here in good numbers and this species has become the most common waterfowl species I am now seeing out on the river. I am also seeing smaller numbers of White-winged Scoter, approximately 12, a few of Common and Red-breasted Merganser, and singleton Black Scoter and Double-crested Cormorant. Gull watching has not been very productive, but I didn't expect it to be. At one site where good numbers of gulls roost this mature Bald Eagle flew over, flushing the roosting gulls before I had a chance to scan them.
