This is one of the most beautiful national parks of China and is located in the northern SiChuan Province. It boast so many grand waterfalls, clear blue water and SIX Star Hotels. Last year's earthquake in Sichuan cut off many road access thus reducing the number of visitors to only 10 percent of its highest level. We were told that as many as 10,000 visitors come to the park during peak season. Unfortunate for many but a blessing for photographers, the reduction in visitors became our paradise.

If you are planning to go, make sure you are fit to go. The park is situated more than 3700 meters above sea level. The HuangLong JiuZhai Airport is at least 3500 meters above sea level and is one of the highest airport in the world. Be prepared for a lot of walking. If you are photographer, you will also be carrying your gear, which in my case was at least 15 kilos or 30 pounds. And because of the high altitude, I also experienced occasional momentary dizziness and black out when standing up suddenly from a kneeling position taking pictures. Early June temperature is 3 degrees in early morning and mid teens in the afternoon, so come with thick clothes.

Buying a few oxygen cans from the town before heading to the park helps.

Very minimal post processing were done on the images displayed. All colors are the exact colors you will see in the park. I did not make any changes to the hues of the water. They are authentic turquoise blue.
