1st Place in Zone V competition "Rain Dance" for September 2007 Contest

This photo was taken in wack wack butterfly sanctuary. It was very difficult to take the picture of the butterfly flying all over the place. Pointing and following the butterfly is next to impossible. So I decided to just be patient and point my lens on a single spot and waited for the butterflies to come. And with a little prayer...they came...two of them...

Thanks to my wife, who held the garden hose to simulate the rain.

Composite images not allowed in photo contest. The picture was taken with a garden hose between the butterfiles and the camera. The butterflies nor the camera do not get wet at all...but it does appear that the butterflies are getting wet.

I like this one out of the three. I prefer the brighter light in this particular shot. However, for "rain dance", I have another picture in my mind. This one is more like "come fly with me". Hahaha. Great shot!

Butterflies are my favorites, that's why it would be bias if I choose this one. Anyway, I like the second one too. You see the graceful movement of the rooster and contrast to the one who is a bit tame. The first one, you captured the whole movement, but kind of abstract, and you have to be aware that is a cock fight otherwise, it is hard to understand. Am not a good help! Appreciate the pictures.

Among the three I think this is the only rain dance for me. For those who know about fighting cocks, the two other pictures of the chicken or roosters connote another kind of different meaning other than rain dance.

This is the best rain dance photo for me...Butterflies, flowers and rain ..all elements naturally flow.
