This shows the garage window through which the pics were taken. The nest is near the top right of the window pane (Above where the white bird poop smudge is seen on the window.) |
Mom is perched on the fence close to our nest. When she saw the stupid camera guy in the window she chirped loudly as she marched up and down the fence. We weren't afraid because Mom was watching. |
June 8, noon: This is our nest shortly after we were born. We're the fuzz at the bottom. |
 Here's Mom protecting us at 5:30 p.m. on June 8. |
June 9th, noon: This is the next day. Look how much we've grown in a day! At least I'm impressed. |
After we were fed, Mom spent lots of time house cleaning by pecking away at the stuff in the bottom of the nest. I always hated that because I was trying to catch some zzzzz's after eating. |
She's back in 10 minutes, but we went back to sleep. Notice she just brought a small slug because we are so little. |
Shucks. She fed Sue, not me. What a bummer and my stomach is just growling! |
 I WANT TO BE FED...NOW! |
June 10th: We're ready for the big worms! Rob & Sue even have their eyes open a little. |
This is June 11th and Mom is grabbing Sue's poop sac before swallowing it. Yuck! |
June 12th, Mom is perched on a limb above us. You may think she's looking away, but she's just trying to divert attention from our nest. Don't worry she's also watching us. |
OK, you know the routine. Guess what white thing Mom has in her mouth? |
June 12: Check this out. We're really hunkered down in the nest because WE saw the guy with the camera! We sure learned fear fast. |
Our fear goes away pretty fast when Maw shows up. |
![Sue on the right yells: You're feeding the wrong kid, Mom! [Ha, ha, Mom's feeding me!]](https://a4.pbase.com/v3/38/96638/3/45568661.DSCN1153Sm.jpg) Sue on the right yells: "You're feeding the wrong kid, Mom!" [Ha, ha, Mom's feeding me!] |
June 13th, 3:00 p.m., and four of us are still there and still hungry |
Hey this is neat. June 15th and both Mom and Dad are here! |
June 15th: Look at the size of that worm! Only three of us here now. Don't know what happened to the other kid. |
June 15 at 8 p.m. Look how big Rob and Sue are. They're sitting on me! |
