On my last morning in Vieux-Boucau-les-Bains I paid an early visit to some private houses that I had noticed earlier in the week. These were sitting on top of the sand dune above the beach, and were deserted. Apparently they are only occupied during August - the month when all of France goes on holiday! In the meantime they stand deserted and getting inundated with sand drifts
