Sourton Tor and Tree

Monday 15th August - Day 240

Thank you for being so complimentary about my war photos yesterday - it was something I enjoyed doing, and I must admit my surprise about the results.

At 7.30 this evening I was having a "what can I photo" moment. The sky was clear, and the light was getting golden as the sun fell, so threw my camera, lens and tripod into the back of the car, and sped off to the Western edge of Dartmoor. The light was lovely, and I was taken by the way this tree was lit.

The moon looked huge on the horizon as it rose - see the centre of this photo, or this one

The tree is standing there highlighted like a queen on a throne. Absolutely breathtaking.

I like the tortured shape of the tree limbs that show which way the winds blow. Lovely light too.

This is lovely Lee, beautiful golden light. Did you use a polariser?

The light is indeed golden. Beautifully seen and captured.
