Hosta collection

Sunday 12th June - Day 176

Hosta's are slug food aren't they? Well no, not really. Especially when visiting the national collection, which is actually in Sticklepath. They have over 850 different varieties, although I must admit I wouldn't notice them if I saw them all!

The sun was back out with a vengence today, which was welcome after all that cloud yesterday. Thank you for all the kind comments.

Wonderful toning! It really emphasizes the textures of their leaves!

I think using the sepia toning enhances the lines, patterns and shadows.

This one reminds me a bit like "The Little Shop of Horrors!" :)

I must admit, I'm not a big fan for hosta's, but I do like the treatment on these!

wow. They almost look like suede. Fantasic shot (by the way... they are one of the favourite foods of the slugs in my garden, second only to marigolds!)

Lovely effect of the hostas here. Of course, my favorite is the poppy, because it is red.
