Natural Limit?

Tuesday 8th February 2005 - Day 52

I've passed this sign several times on lunchtime walks away from the office. Its on a closed stretch of road - closed since last year - and signifies to me that the roadside verge is trying and succeeding into recapturing road. The manmade is only temporary and the natural will, given the chance, reclaim.

One of the reasons I hadnt posted a phot before - its my third try - is that I wasnt satisfied with what I had taken - composition, framing, exposure or whatever. I can't say I'm totally satisfied today either, but it is a better attempt to capture what I feel, as well as see.

Your description is dead-on. That thorny branch going across the sign looks like it's grabbing it and about to pull it back into the brush....never to be seen again. "Day of the Triffids" lol.

I like the thorns across the sign ... somewhat sinister to me!

I like it. The focus is on the sign but not ignoring the texture and light of the roadside "foliage."

I like it,Lee. I like that the sign is in the middle of the frame and that the "half zero." I think European road signs are far more interesting than American signs...I guess because it's foreign to me.

Excellent, Lee! Everything is perfectly in focus and the exposure is great! Also, I like the composition. Good job!

I like the title you choose for this one ;). I thought to start a gallerie with funny signs, the idea came from Donna, but so far I only seen one in my surroundings.
