Lambing Season

Thursday 27th January 2005 - Day 40

I was in Barnstaple today, in North Devon. It isn't an area of the county that I am that familiar with, so the drive back was in the spirit of adventure, and of course photos. I've found plenty of places to return to when the lighting is more favourable. Having said that, there was plenty of scope for photos as the scenery changed and I went through small village after small village.

Having said all that, I thought that this best summed up my day. The spirit of exploration - personal and geographic - being uppermost in my mind, there was a little of the lamb about me :)

Note that half the sheep are interested in me, and the other half are interested in the farmer approaching with food...

Now, no-one mention mint sauce...

I really like the set up in this image, their positioning is just great and you certainly found a very neat angle to photograph them from.

The way the sheep are scattered on this field makes this an outstanding composition.. love the depth. I think the square format also adds to the interest of this image.

This is fantastic. I love the composition, especially the closeup in the foreground. The B&W is perfect for this photo.

Very nice! The Python skit "Flying sheep" just popped in to my head...

What a lovely image. I especially love the way you compose this. That is so neat how you managed to get half looking at you when food is your competition!! LOL

I love this shot. Nothing like lambs and no one had better mention mint sauce. Where I attended elementary school the priest raised sheep and the girl's playground was also the sheep's pasture. We tended to all the babies as soon as they were born.

really well done, Lee.. love the way they are looking at you .. you are so far above them. I like how the line of sheep are closer to the top edge.. well done
