Beach scene, Exmouth

Wednesday 26th January 2005 - Day 39

I had another walk along the beach at Exmouth today; it was actually quite a lovely day - cool maybe, but sunny and with little wind and cloud. These pilings look like they will be testing the water when the tide turns, and the contrast with the shadows, and the rocks, intrigued me.

I felt so good walking in the sun today, so much so that I even stayed awake this afternoon!

PS - Levels; Created a mono layer using Channel Mixer and set blend mode to Color Burn; cropped and framed

I love the shadows and colortones. And I think that little light reflection sitting right in line with the pilings tops it off nicely.

Both images reveal very nicely the reflection of the sun in the water, it is hard to pick which one speaks more to me. Very warm tones in the upper image with that darker color, incredible silhouette in the other.

Very nice image. Contrast in colors and light are strong, creating a dramatic composition. Has an almost surreal look that pulls you in. Good one Lee.

Wonderful end-of-the-evening sun on this scene.. perfect sunshine dappling on the water.. leading the eye to the old decay of the pilings. I like the darkness along he bottom and sides a bit. This would be excellent framed

I like the light and the colors. I hope that is not something dead on the beach, like a dog.
