Nordic Spirit II

Victoria, BC

This image was made at Fisherman's Wharf in Victoria from five bracketed frames.
The sky was much brighter than the boats and water and so I bracketed the shot and combined them on
the computer. I did this in order to end up with what I hope would be an image that closely resembles
what I saw with my own eyes. Some would call this a high dynamic range (HDR) image but we have
accomplished similar results using neutral density graduated filters.
I hope it doesn't look too over worked. I think the water is darker this time than in Nordic Spirit.

Canon EOS-1D Mark III ,Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM ,Digital
ISO 400, 17mm, Exposures were -2, -1, 0, +1, +2 EV

Its a fantastic image, a little hyper-real yet very well controlled.

What a beautiful capture Fred. Super reflections and a great perspective on these colorful boats. Not a bit overworked, by the way.

Again excellent technique...looks very natural, as You have probably seen it. You have here beautiful warm light and reflection and it would be a pity to miss this because of an technical limitation of the camera. Superb shot V
