The Liberation Hall, built by Bavarian King Ludwig I in the mid 18th century honors the German tribes who banded together to defeat the French during the Napoleonic Wars of 1813-1815. The Weltenburg Abbey, Germany's oldest, founded in the beginning of the 7th century by the Abbot Eustacius. It is constructed in Baroque, with polished marble, gilt, and painted ceilings.
