An unexpected visitor attends the art show . . . and serves as an homage to the Mexican cult of the dead, which seems at first so unlike our own society’s euphemization, avoidance and denial of the subject of death but on further reflection is perhaps simply the other side of the same coin—the universal human preoccupation with (and dread of) the inevitability of death.
