This is in response to Kees comment. Either she was rotation her leg from seconde to arabesque and just hadn't quite gotten there yet when the shot was taken, or her foot just isn't pointed all the way. That doesn't look like a deliberate position choreographically. I think it's just the momement the shot was taken, or a mistake on the dancers part. Either way the shot is still quite lovely
This is one of those shots that makes you look twice. How does it work with the back leg? Is it pointing towards you or away from you? I know that it is pointing towards us but it makes you look twice. Human contortionism without the slightest hint of effort. This is what defines a ballet dancer for me.
