Backstage Live!

Backstage is a world of its own. The citizens of this shadowy place alone can know how it feels to wait, to prepare, to admire. The perspective is unlike any other; dance takes on a very different appearance when viewed from the wings. Dancers support one another silently, bathed in a half light, viewing their craft from a vantage point that the audience will never see.

All of these photographs were made with a Canon 5D at ISO 1600 and a Canon 70-200 f2.8L IS lens handheld.

Stunning. (Sorry to repeat a previously used adjective, but short of a magnifying thesaurus that describes my reaction). The pictures have class, matching the subject. And your use of the backlight, sidelight, any kind of light that was there, is simply masterful. There is a harmony between photographer and subject, and I can't help but sense that you felt it as you were shooting and that it carried you forward.
