Black-tipped Darner (Aeshna tuberculifera)

A fairly common "blue" or "mosaic" darner. Unlike other Aeshna darners, the male lacks twin blue top-spots on abdominal segment 10 and hence the species name. The other most useful ID feature is the broad, straight, and unnotched anterior thoracic side stripe. No black crossline on face and claspers of the narrow paddle-type. Females often very similar to males.
