Dragonhunter (Hagenius brevistlyus)

First and foremost...the dragonfly with the best name. The largest clubtail and huge dragonfly, averaging about 3.3 inches long. Massive thorax is striped with black and yellow and makes the head look small. Abdomen is hefty and often held drooping downward posteriorly, like a sideways J (see the last couple images below). A fierce predator, it frequents large lakes and forest streams in search of prey -- its fellow dragonflies, various butterflies, and other large insects! If anyone can tell the sex of these, please let me know.
