Where the Mountains Meet the Sea - Collioure, Perpignan and the Pyrenees, May 2008

A beautiful part of France, often overlooked, and therefore still relatively unspoiled. Collioure has inspired famous artists because of the wonderful ambient light there. Perpignan is a compact, very French, multifaceted city. The Pyrenees and their neighbouring foothills are simply unbeatable for wilderness walks, and there are many well-marked footpaths through and up and down their undulations.
