Compare this image quality with the 70-200 and extender, this is much better. I have this lens as well. A lens couldn't be any sharper than this. Good pic too.
Thanks for the kind comment. Well the answer is quite simply a little cropping. The Canon 100mm Macro gives good results that enable effective cropping to full resolution RAW mode shots, and of course with this lens you can get pretty close anyway.
I love macro photography it shows you so much wonderful detail that the unaided eye just does not see.
