Valley of Fire State Park, NV

This is a place I've only recently discovered. It surprises me that I've never seen pictures like these from this place before. If you go there, PLEASE be careful when you explore. This sandstone is extremely delicate. Sometimes, if there's a strong wind, you can hear sandstone fins breaking off around you. That's how delicate some of the formations are.

I made the same mistake of using a polarizer here that I made at White Pocket. It makes the skies either too blue, or start to go black, making the image look fake. Lens "fall off" from using a wide angle lens contributed to this artifact. This type of sandstone is very tricky to meter, and using a polarizer with a 4x5 only makes it even trickier. Once again, I miss the color we used to get with the old Velvia 50.
