The idiocy of war

Are wars always engineered by political and economic elites for their own selfish ends?
Are we aware of the power of their propaganda machines to make us buy into their diabolical schemes?
Will we always surrender our human birthright and common humanity?
Is it possible for the human family, in universal solidarity and interdependence, to pool their
enormous resources to defeat these monsters that are
devouring our humanity with impunity?

You raise heavy questions. Sure, we can all dream of a world without war, but with human nature being what it is, I am rather pessimistic. Too many people think differently. I believe that we can all contribute to damper its intensity, though.
Another aspect - I wonder about the impact of wars on the configuration of countries and other factors. The wars on other continents bring refugees to our country. This, in turn, has an impact on our population and the future of the country. If it were not of WWII, my parents would have never met and I would not be here today...

this is a strong composition. the one problem is the overexposed sky at top right, which is distracting and draws the eye away. a lower angle to the ground would be helpful in this situation, but you can try to correct it in postprocessing with some skillful cropping as well.
