Open cut coal mine

Open cut coal mine that once fed the now decomissioned Hazelwood Power Station.

The rehabilitation goal for Hazelwood mine is to provide a safe, stable and sustainable landscape that reflects community aspirations and the practicalities of mine rehabilitation.
Currently, Hazelwood’s end of life plan is for the mine to be a large lake, surrounded by gently receding slopes and revegetating the area with trees and grasses.

Looks like the plan is well underway if this was once an open pit mine. Very nice foreground for this once mining operation. Vote.
