Venice by night and day

I enjoy Venice the most on winter evenings when you are alone in the alleyways and the only sound apart from occasional subdued voices and the slurping of water in the canals is the echo of your own footsteps. Warm, friendly light from shops or taverns alternates with the black, mysterious canals that vanish in the darkness or around the next corner.

In summer the atmosphere is quite different.

But Venice remains unique at all times and seasons.
